Skiing is the Austrian national sport — it’s to Austria what football is to England or ice hockey to Canada. Now, the Austrian Ski Federation has signed a partnership with a representative of the decentralized finance (DeFi) world — Bybit EU, the European arm of cryptocurrency exchange Bybit.
“We’re proud to announce our partnership as the Official Partner of Ski Austria! Together, we unite world-class precision on the slopes with innovation in finance — celebrating performance, excellence, and speed,” announced Bybit EU on the X platform.
Bybit EU has been named the official partner of Ski Austria (ÖSV – Österreichischer Skiverband), according to a press release issued on Wednesday.
Partnership bridges sports and digital finance
The partnership links one of the world’s most successful winter sports organizations with a MiCA-licensed digital finance company. Under the agreement, Bybit EU becomes an official partner of Ski Austria for the 2025/26 FIS World Cup season, starting October 26.
“We are very pleased that we have been able to establish a completely new sector within winter sports. For the first time, a national association is welcoming a partner from this industry into the world of skiing. This shows how our sport connects both traditional and technology-driven sectors — a fact we are proud of and a clear sign of skiing’s power as the perfect stage for strong brand presence,” said Christian Scherer, CEO of the Austrian Ski Federation.
The collaboration includes branding visibility at select World Cup events in Sölden, Gurgl, Semmering, Stubai, Montafon, and Flachau. The visibility campaign extends to Ski Austria’s digital platforms, joint fan activations, and coordinated event promotions — combining physical presence with digital engagement across Europe’s leading winter sports audience.
Bybit EU expands its reach beyond crypto
The Ski Austria partnership forms part of Bybit EU’s broader strategy to integrate crypto into everyday European life through meaningful partnerships in sports, technology, and education. Bybit’s global sponsorship portfolio already includes collaborations with motorsport and esports — now extending its reach to the alpine sports community. “Austria stands at the crossroads of alpine excellence and financial innovation.
