The event once again showcased world-class track cycling talent. The Czech lineup featured the winning pair along with multiple national champion and Paris 2024 Olympian Jan Voneš, junior European champion Matyáš Koblížek, and points race world champion Jarmila Machačová. International competitors included Austrian rider and two-time European madison champion Rafael Kokas, American cyclist Colby Lange, and British representative Lucy Nelson.
“The start list full of Czech and international world and European champions confirms the event’s strong position in the racing calendar. We’re grateful that top athletes keep returning – it shows we offer both an attractive format and a high-quality competitive test,” says Lukáš Thun of the organizing team. This year also introduced a social element: “For the first time, we hosted a dinner directly in the center of the velodrome for major figures in track cycling. It gave the event a modern, Western feel, and the feedback was excellent.”
The program included youth points races, 200-meter sprints, scratch races, elimination races for men and women, and a women’s points race. The final men’s madison turned into a dramatic contest between the three strongest pairs. Kadlec and Bittman secured a decisive lead in the last quarter of the race. Ondřej Šilhavý and Justin Weder finished second, while third place went to the Czech duo Adam Křenek and Viktor Padělek.
“The madison once again proved why it’s considered the royal discipline – everything was decided in the final meters. We’re pleased that Czech riders consistently keep pace with the world’s best,” Thun adds.
Organized since 2022 by Dukla Prague in cooperation with club L27 and the crypto exchange BITmarkets, the memorial honors the legacy of Cyril Schejbal, a key figure in Czech track cycling. “Cyril believed the track is an excellent school for cycling – it teaches speed, strategy, and respect. Seeing young riders, national team members, and international stars share the same oval today, I’m sure he would be proud. I’m grateful to everyone who continues to develop the memorial’s legacy,” Thun concludes.
