Tether Gold (XAUT) has been trading within a well-defined range since late June, but recent buying momentum is bringing the token closer to an important breakout level. Whether buyers can successfully push above this resistance and sustain the move could determine the next phase of the trend, making the coming sessions particularly important.

Tether Gold (XAUT) technical analysis

XAUT 5.8

XAUTUSD - 1 Day Time Frame

Since the end of June, XAUT has been trading within a relatively narrow corrective range between $3,940 and $4,200. From a market structure perspective, this type of price action suggests that liquidity has been building on both sides of the market. The upper boundary near $4,200 represents Buy-Side Liquidity, while the lower boundary around $3,940 represents Sell-Side Liquidity.

The recent price increase of more than 2% has brought XAUT close to the Buy-Side Liquidity level at $4,200. While a move above this level could signal growing bullish momentum, the breakout itself is not enough to confirm a long setup. The market's reaction after the breakout remains the key factor.

If XAUT breaks above $4,200 and the subsequent pullback is slower and weaker than the preceding bullish move, it could indicate that buyers remain in control and that the breakout is being accepted rather than rejected. Such price action would strengthen the case for a potential continuation higher.

Tether Gold (XAUT) price target

If the bullish scenario is confirmed by a successful breakout followed by a shallow correction, the next upside targets could be the Buy-Side Liquidity zones around $4,356 and $4,580. These levels represent logical resistance areas if XAUT continues seeking liquidity above the current trading range. From a risk-management perspective, a protective Stop Loss could be placed around $4,000. A move below this level could weaken the current bullish structure and reduce the probability of continued upside.

An alternative scenario should also be considered. If XAUT breaks above $4,200 but is met with a strong and impulsive rejection, the breakout could instead prove to be a liquidity sweep rather than a genuine bullish continuation. In that case, bearish momentum could begin to strengthen, potentially creating conditions for a move back toward the lower end of the range.

For now, the reaction around $4,200 remains the most important technical signal. A controlled pullback after a breakout could support further gains, while a sharp rejection would increase the likelihood of renewed downside pressure.
