Bitcoin treasury company Strive has expanded its cryptocurrency reserves with the purchase of 4,045 Bitcoin (BTC) for approximately $335 million, bringing its total holdings to 36,818 BTC.

The acquisition, completed between Oct. 12 and Oct. 16, was disclosed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Strive reported an average purchase price of $82,803 per Bitcoin, including transaction fees and related expenses. The latest investment continues the company's strategy of accumulating Bitcoin through equity financing and strengthens its position among the largest publicly traded corporate holders of the cryptocurrency.

Strive becomes fourth-largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder

Following its latest acquisition, Strive has moved into fourth place among publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin, overtaking cryptocurrency mining company MARA Holdings. According to BitcoinTreasuries.net, Strive's reserves of 36,818 BTC were valued at approximately $3 billion.

The change in rankings comes amid reports that MARA Holdings has been transferring portions of its Bitcoin reserves to cryptocurrency exchanges. Blockchain analytics platform Arkham identified wallets associated with MARA that had recently deposited approximately $82 million worth of Bitcoin into Binance and Gate.

While these transfers have raised speculation about potential sales, exchange deposits do not necessarily confirm that the assets have been sold. Strive's latest acquisition also follows another substantial Bitcoin purchase during the preceding week, when the company added 3,311 BTC to its reserves. That earlier transaction increased Strive's Bitcoin holdings by 11.2%, exceeding the 9.4% increase in its effective common share count during the same period.

Equity financing supports continued Bitcoin accumulation

Strive has relied on equity financing to support its Bitcoin treasury expansion. The company reported receiving approximately $369 million from warrant exercises conducted on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, resulting in the issuance of 13.7 million common shares.

These transactions increased Strive's effective share count by 12.4%, closely matching the 12.3% growth in its Bitcoin holdings. As a result, the amount of Bitcoin attributable to each effective share remained largely unchanged despite the company's substantial increase in total cryptocurrency reserves.

This relationship is an important consideration for investors evaluating Bitcoin treasury companies, as issuing additional shares to finance cryptocurrency purchases can dilute existing shareholders unless the growth in Bitcoin holdings offsets the increase in share count.

Strive launches SATS preferred stock to fund future purchases

Alongside its Bitcoin acquisitions, Strive has introduced a new preferred stock offering called SATS, potentially providing another source of capital for its treasury strategy. The company announced the pricing of a $630 million offering of SATS preferred shares last week.

The new securities carry a fixed annual dividend rate of 15%, with payments scheduled to begin on Nov. 9 and be distributed each business day, subject to approval by the company's board of directors. Proceeds from the preferred stock offering could be used to finance additional Bitcoin acquisitions, allowing Strive to continue expanding its reserves through capital market transactions.

Meanwhile, Strive's Nasdaq-listed shares, trading under the ticker ASST, gained approximately 7.7% during late-morning trading on Monday, reaching $25.95, according to Yahoo Finance. The latest purchases and financing initiatives highlight Strive's continued focus on increasing its corporate Bitcoin holdings, although the impact on shareholders will depend on how effectively the company balances cryptocurrency accumulation with the issuance of additional equity and preferred securities.
