Solana Sees Record 264,000 Tokens Launched in One Day

The Solana network has reached a new record for daily token creation, surpassing issuance levels seen during the height of the memecoin boom in late 2024. More than 263,000 new Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens were minted on Wednesday, setting an all-time high, according to Solscan data.

By comparison, daily issuance ranged between roughly 40,000 and 50,000 tokens during the peak of the memecoin cycle in December 2024. Of the 40,360 tokens created specifically through launchpads, Pump.fun accounted for 34,184, representing the large majority, according to Blockworks data.

Pump.fun dominates Solana token launches

Token launchpads allow users to create, launch and trade memecoins without requiring extensive technical knowledge. These platforms simplify the token creation process while providing new assets with immediate liquidity and market exposure.

Pump.fun continues to dominate this segment of the Solana ecosystem, accounting for most tokens created through launchpads during the latest surge in activity. The platform also ranks as the leading Solana-native protocol by daily revenue, generating approximately $1.8 million over the past 24 hours, according to DefiLlama.

Solana launchpad competition grows

Despite Pump.fun’s leading position, competition among Solana-based trading and token platforms continues to develop. Last Friday, trading app Fomo briefly surpassed Pump.fun in daily revenue. Fomo combines cryptocurrency trading with social features similar to those found on social media platforms. The temporary shift highlighted growing competition for users and trading activity within Solana’s expanding ecosystem.

Pump.fun remains a major source of Solana revenue

Pump.fun has also become an important contributor to Solana’s overall revenue. During the first quarter of 2026, the platform generated $124 million, accounting for roughly one-third of Solana’s total $342 million in revenue during the period.

That contribution came despite a broader slowdown in memecoin activity, highlighting Pump.fun’s continued importance to activity and revenue across the Solana network.
