Monero (XMR) has emerged as one of the stronger performers in the recent crypto market recovery, gaining more than 10% over the past week and over 40% during the past month. The rally has pushed its year-to-date gain to approximately 23%, despite periods of heavy selling pressure across the broader cryptocurrency market throughout 2026 amid geopolitical uncertainty and wider market pullbacks.

With XMR now trading around $536 after a sharp rise from its summer lows, the token is approaching an important resistance area. The strength of the recent rally raises the question of whether buyers can extend the move toward higher levels or whether XMR could first consolidate or correct after its rapid advance.

Monero (XMR) technical analysis

XMR 4.9

XMRUSD - 1 Week Time Frame

XMR is currently trading around $536, between immediate support near $485 and a key resistance area around $565. The token has climbed rapidly through several previous price levels during its August rally, significantly improving its broader technical picture.

The $485 area represents the nearest support following the latest move higher. Holding above this level could help preserve the current bullish structure and provide a foundation for another attempt at the $565 resistance. The main obstacle for buyers is now $565, an area that also corresponds closely with XMR's previous major high from early 2026. A sustained breakout above this level could strengthen the bullish outlook and potentially allow the former resistance area to begin acting as support.

Conversely, rejection from $565 could result in a period of consolidation between $485 and $565. A break below immediate support would weaken the short-term setup and could shift attention toward the next support around $435. Further selling pressure could bring the lower support areas around $360 and $305 into focus.

Monero (XMR) price target

The immediate focus is on whether XMR can sustainably break above $565. Establishing itself above this resistance could provide another positive technical signal and open the way toward higher price levels. The next major upside target would then be the resistance area around $690, which represents a prominent previous price level visible on the weekly chart. Given XMR's rapid advance over the past month, however, periods of consolidation or profit-taking could emerge before the token attempts to reach this higher target.

On the other hand, failure to overcome $565 could keep XMR trading within the $485–$565 range. Losing $485 would increase the possibility of a deeper correction toward $435, while further weakness could place the $360 support area back into focus.

Much of XMR's next move could also depend on broader cryptocurrency market sentiment, macroeconomic conditions, regulatory developments and geopolitical factors. For now, $565 represents the key upside level to watch: a sustained breakout could strengthen the case for a move toward $690, while rejection could increase the likelihood of consolidation or a correction toward lower support levels.
