With ATOM now trading around $1.85 following its rapid advance, the token is approaching the psychologically important $2.00 area. The recent rally has significantly improved its short-term picture, but the speed of the move also raises the possibility of consolidation or a pullback. Several key price levels could help determine whether buyers can extend the recovery or whether momentum begins to fade.

ATOMUSD - 1 Day Time Frame
ATOM is currently trading around $1.85, having surged from below $1.50 at the beginning of September. The nearest support is located around $1.55, an area that could become particularly important if the token experiences a short-term correction.
The main obstacle for buyers is the support/resistance area around $2.02, just above the psychologically significant $2.00 mark. This level previously played an important role in ATOM's price action and represents the next major test for the current recovery. A sustained breakout above $2.00–$2.02 could strengthen the improving technical picture. If ATOM subsequently manages to hold above this area, the former resistance could begin acting as support and provide a stronger foundation for another move higher.
Conversely, rejection from $2.00–$2.02 could result in a period of consolidation between $1.55 support and $2.02 resistance. A break below $1.55 would weaken the short-term recovery and could shift attention toward the next support around $1.38. Further weakness could eventually bring the major $1.21 support area back into focus.
The immediate focus is on whether ATOM can challenge and sustainably break above the $2.00–$2.02 area. Establishing itself above this zone could attract further buyer interest and increase the possibility of an extension of the current rally.
The next major upside target would then be the resistance area around $2.26, which represents a prominent previous price level visible on the daily chart. Given ATOM's nearly 30% weekly surge, however, periods of consolidation or profit-taking could emerge before the token attempts to reach this higher target.
On the other hand, failure to overcome $2.00–$2.02 could keep ATOM trading within its broader range. Losing $1.55 would increase the possibility of a correction toward $1.38, while further weakness could expose the lower support around $1.21.
Much of ATOM's next move could also depend on broader cryptocurrency market sentiment, macroeconomic conditions, regulatory developments and geopolitical factors. For now, $2.00–$2.02 represents the key upside area to watch: a sustained breakout could strengthen the case for a move toward $2.26, while rejection could increase the likelihood of consolidation or a pullback toward lower support levels.
