BitGo Bank & Trust would hold the fund’s Worldcoin assets in custody, while BNY Mellon would act as administrator and transfer agent. CSC Delaware Trust Company would serve as trustee. The filing has not yet revealed the proposed management fee, seed investment, authorized participants or liquidity providers.
WLD is an ERC-20 token issued on the Ethereum blockchain and serves as the native asset of World, a project designed to use biometric verification to distinguish humans from automated bots. The project was founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and has positioned its identity technology as a way to verify human participation in an increasingly AI-driven digital environment.
The proposed Worldcoin fund would broaden Grayscale’s existing range of crypto-related exchange-traded products. The asset manager currently offers 17 such products, including funds linked to Bitcoin, XRP, Solana, Ether, Dogecoin and Chainlink.
