Visa, a major player in the payments industry, is taking further steps to explore the potential advantages of cryptocurrencies through a new initiative that focuses on stablecoin payments. Cuy Sheffield, the head of crypto at Visa, recently announced that the company is working on a new project related to cryptocurrencies.
The upcoming product is intended to promote the widespread use of public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments. A job posting from Visa's crypto division- stated that the company is creating the next generation of products that will enable the digital commerce of everyday life.
Visa is planning to hire software engineers who specialize in programming and backend systems for Web3 technologies to develop a new cryptocurrency-related product that will drive mainstream adoption of public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments.
The company is particularly interested in candidates with experience using AI-assisted engineering tools like Github Copilot to write and debug smart contracts. Visa has listed a good understanding of layer 1 and layer 2 solutions, as well as experience with writing smart contracts using Solidity, a programming language used to create smart contracts on blockchain platforms, among its preferred qualifications for applicants.
