One of the United Arab Emirates' free economic zones, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), has added the Solana Foundation as a partner to its ecosystem.

According to the announcement from October 15, Solana will offer technical and business development support to any DMCC Crypto Centre member using its blockchain platform.

The business will also expand its currently running grant program at DMCC and offer webinars and educational courses on various Web3 topics.

According to Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the CEO of the center, Solana's current partners will receive preferential treatment in the DMCC:

“We will provide complimentary setup and business licensing for Solana ecosystem projects whilst our members can access a world-class blockchain platform and dedicated Solana engineering teams that can take their businesses to new heights.”

Venture capital firm Brinc, Web3 incubator TDeFi, and maker of the digital asset market DWF Labs are also included on the list of DMCC's ecosystem partners. 23,000 companies in total are members of the center.

The DMCC is one of the three initial economic free zones established in the UAE to improve its investment climate, along with the Abu Dhabi Global Market and Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.

The Ras Al Khaimah Digital Assets Oasis, which was unveiled at Blockchain Life 2023, will soon join this trio.

The Solana network had a total value locked of about $359 million as of September 2023, placing it in the 10th spot globally.
