Shibarium Resumes Block Production After Pause

Following a nearly 24-hour transaction halt, the Shiba Inu’s layer-2 Shibarium network has resumed block production.

Shibarium has come back and is generating blocks, according to the Shibariumscan.io block explorer.

Due to unusually high traffic following the mainnet launch, the Shibarium network went into fail-safe mode and suspended operations to safeguard money.

Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama said that increased blockchain traffic caused some issues, but that fund security remains intact. He claimed that both the bridge and the chain are in good working order, and Shibarium is ready for a quick restart.

Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya highlighted plans for increasing operations to accommodate significant traffic on Shibarium in an official blog post dated Aug. 18.

He also stated that the team will provide frequent updates on the status of the Shibarium network, a fork of Polygon.

“In fact, as we slowly and carefully investigated where the problem exactly took place and found thousands upon thousands of contract creation and normal transactions IN ONE BLOCK.”
