Porsche, the German luxury automobile manufacturer, has indicated that it will greatly increase its Web3 efforts following the announcement of a planned nonfungible token (NFT) initiative consisting of 7,500 customized tokenized vehicles. Porsche said that the NFTs will be available in January, with consumers able to modify numerous elements of the cars' performance and look. Patrick Vogel, a designer, created the NFT art, which revolves on the legendary Porsche 911 model. Notably, these virtual objects will be created using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, implying potential gaming integrations are in the works. Porsche previously collaborated on the release of soccer themed NFT memorabilia in June 2021 as part of an initiative called Fanzone, but it now looks to be taking tokenization of its vehicles more seriously.

BMW also said to have sought to trademark its logo in connection with a variety of Web3 goods and services. The action was noted by USPTO licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, who routinely provides news about large corporations' Web3 trademark applications in the United States. BMW stated that its mark will be used on collectibles such as virtual clothes, footwear, hats, and automobiles, as well as downloadable virtual products such as online settings and games.
