A major milestone for sports giant Nike, its nonfungible token (NFT) platform .SWOOSH will become incorporated into EA Sports video games, which will potentially integrate Nike’s virtual apparel in games.

Nike announced on the first of June that its “virtual creations” will begin to be incorporated into the video games of sports gaming giant EA Sports within the coming months, however neither Nike nor EA Sports revealed which games will include Nike’s NFTs.

EA Sports is the mastermind behind many of the most revolutionary games of modern times, including football-focused (or soccer) FIFA, Madden NFL and the official NBA video game. All of these game sensations are available to play on console, PC and mobile.

As the news circulated the web, the gaming community, alongside that of crypto, seem excited for this new revelation. Many are expecting that Nike’s NFTs will come in the form of customizable wearable add-ons which players can purchase and ‘dress-up’ their character avatars in-game.

According to Ron Faris, general manager of Nike Virtual Studios, the partnership with EA will “unlock some incredible new experiences for our .SWOOSH community and the massive EA SPORTS fan base.”
