New Malware Poses Threat to Crypto Traders

.MALWARE

Anti-malware software Malwarebytes highlighted that two new malicious computer programs cultivated by unknown sources have scattered across the internet to steal cryptocurrencies from investors which use desktop platforms to trade crypto.

The two malicious files by the names of MortalKombat ransomware and Laplas Clipper malware have been actively stealing funds from unwary investors since December 2022, and they remain to pose a threat to the safety of crypto wallets.

Most victims are located in the United States, while a smaller percentage of victims reside in the United Kingdom, Turkey and the Phillipinnes, according to Cisco Talos. Investors can prevent such attacks from impacting their financial prosperity, thanks to the early detection of malicious software.
