Tokenized stocks are on a path to surpass $1 trillion in market capitalization in the coming years as adoption gains momentum, according to two industry leaders who spoke at the TokenizeThis conference in New York.

The total addressable market for tokenized stocks — a subset of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) — is difficult to quantify, but is “definitely a bigger trillion-dollar market,” said Arnab Naskar, CEO of STOKR, during a panel discussion on April 16.

In 2025, institutional demand for these assets has “exploded,” according to Anna Wroblewska, Chief Business Officer at Dinari.

She said the demand is coming from a broad mix of institutions, including Web3 wallets, neobanks, and traditional financial firms.

“We've had an enormous influx of demand from a much broader scope of potential partners than you might even imagine [...] it's actually been really interesting,” Wroblewska said.

As of April 18, tokenized stocks represent around $350 million in cumulative market capitalization, based on data from RWA.xyz.

That figure is still a small fraction of the broader RWA market, which now exceeds $18 billion, according to the same data.

However, this may change as tokenized stocks begin capturing a greater share of the U.S. equities market, Wroblewska said.

According to Siblis Research, the total market value of U.S. public stocks exceeds $50 trillion.

“There is a huge appetite for US public equities... even individual investors globally want exposure to US capital markets. Tokenization makes it fast and cheap,” Wroblewska said.

She also noted that tokenized U.S. Treasury Bills are seeing significant demand for similar reasons. They currently hold nearly $6 billion in total market capitalization, according to RWA.xyz.

At the same time, Coinbase is exploring the idea of offering tokenized shares of its own stock on Base, its Ethereum-based layer-2 network.

Globally, tokenized RWAs represent a $30 trillion opportunity, according to Colin Butler, global head of institutional capital at Movement Labs, in a statement to Cointelegraph.

“Tokenization will become a mirror of the market. If the user experience is better, faster, and cheaper, people will default to tokenized assets,” Wroblewska said.
