FBI Seizes Nearly $400,000 from Binance Accounts

According to a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report made public, the organization seized digital assets worth about $1.7 million between March and May – nearly $400,000 of that has been confiscated from popular crypto exchange Binance.

The filing shows that that FBI seized $147,000 in Bitcoin (BTC), $800,00 in Ether (ETH), $307,000 in Tether (USDT), $469,000 in Dai (DAI) and $20,000 in Monero (XMR) during the beforementioned timeframe.

The FBI also stated in the filing that there were several violations of federal laws that led to the asset seizures. The FBI reported:

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) gives notice that the property listed below was seized for federal forfeiture for violation of federal law.”

Besides cryptocurrencies, the FBI also reported the seizure of numerous other items, such as United States dollars from bank accounts, sports automobiles, designer bags, clothing, and footwear.
