Ethereum NFTs Dominate Weekly Sales
Ethereum-based NFT collections dominated the past week’s sales rankings, with nine of the top ten collections by total sales volume running on the Ethereum blockchain. According to CryptoSlam data from Monday, standout collections included CryptoPunks, Pudgy Penguins, Moonbirds, and Azuki. The only non-Ethereum collection in the top ten was Courtyard NFTs on Polygon.
This spike in Ethereum NFT activity coincided with Ether’s strong price movement. ETH surged past $3,800 on Monday, up nearly 27% from $3,000 on July 14, reaching $3,815 at the time of writing.
CryptoPunks topped CryptoSlam’s charts with $15.5 million in weekly sales—a massive 11,736% increase from the previous week. Pudgy Penguins and Bored Ape Yacht Club followed with $2.69 million and $2.38 million in sales, respectively, with BAYC posting a 1,051% week-on-week jump.
DappRadar, which ranks by trading volume rather than sales volume, also listed nine Ethereum-based collections in its top ten. However, it placed Pudgy Penguins first, with over $20 million in trading volume, ahead of CryptoPunks’ $17.6 million. Pudgy Penguins' average sale price rose to nearly $50,000 (a 52% increase), while CryptoPunks averaged $155,000 per sale (up 21%).
While CryptoSlam counts both primary and secondary sales, DappRadar tracks all DApp transaction data, leading to slight differences in rankings.
On the valuation front, data from NFT Floor Price showed Ethereum NFTs leading by market cap as well, with nine of the top ten collections built on Ethereum. The exception was Solana-based Mad Lads. CryptoPunks led with a $1.8 billion market cap, followed by Pudgy Penguins at $556 million and BAYC at nearly $500 million.
The broader NFT market also saw a lift, with total market value rising to $6.34 billion in the last 24 hours—a 21.2% increase.
