Ethereum ETFs Record $1 Billion Daily Inflows
Spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw record-breaking net inflows on Monday, with a combined $1.01 billion flowing into all funds. This surge came as Ethereum’s price gained 45% over the past month and several key market indicators turned bullish.
Ether ETFs significantly outpaced Bitcoin ETFs, which recorded $178 million in net inflows the same day, according to Farside Investors. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) led the activity with a record $640 million in inflows, while the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH) followed with its own single-day record of $277 million.
NovaDius president Nate Geraci noted that these products had been “severely underestimated” in the past because many traditional finance investors “didn’t understand eth,” but now institutional interest is growing, with Ethereum being described as the “backbone of future financial markets.”
Market data reflects strong fundamentals for ETH. Ether held on exchanges dropped to 15.28 million, a nine-year low, signaling investors may be moving holdings to long-term storage. Onchain data from Token Terminal shows Ethereum remains the leading blockchain for tokenized assets, accounting for about 58% of the market, and the total value of assets staked on its network has exceeded $150 billion for the first time.
Crypto analyst Anthony Sassano highlighted that since Ethereum’s Merge to proof-of-stake in 2022, over 451,000 ETH have been issued, and Monday’s ETF inflows alone accounted for 238,000 ETH—more than half of the net issued amount during that period. Corporate holdings of Ether also reached $13 billion on Monday due to price appreciation.
Despite the rally, some caution remains. An increase in short-term profit-taking suggests traders anticipate a possible pullback. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has also warned that the growing trend of corporations adding ETH to their treasuries could evolve into a risky “overleveraged game.”
