Technology mastermind Elon Musk is set to revamp the blue bird social media platform once more. This time, the Twitter & Tesla CEO will implement monetization features for content creators.

In a tweet on April 28, Elon Musk revealed that content creators are now able to generate monthly income from subscribers interested in receiving exclusive tweets, access to direct messaging, unique badges and other benefits.

Available on iOS, Android and web, the ‘Subscription’ feature aims to boost follower engagement on a global scale, while incentivizing content creators with revenue streams on the popular platform. According to Twitter’s page outlining the feature in detail, creators will keep 97% of the revenue generated up to $50,000 in lifetime earnings, dropping to 80% afterwards.

Twitter has partnered up with Stripe to payout the platform’s creators, a move after the company sustained drastic changes in recent times including mass layoffs and the introduction of the Twitter Blue subscription feature in efforts to transform the company.
