Elon Musk Buys Thousands of GPUs for Twitter AI Project
Anonymous sources close to Twitter have revealed that CEO Elon Musk has purchased almost 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) to bolster the social media pioneer’s artificial intelligence initiatives.
Tech tycoon Elon Musk, which also serves as a CEO for SpaceX, Twitter, Tesla and other trendsetting is companies is reportedly moving forward with a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) project at Twitter, and according to a report from the Business Insider, Musk has reportedly bought nearly 10,000 GPUs to be utilized on the social media platform.
Musk has been entrenched within the realm of AI for a long time, so it does not come to a surprise to the majority of the public; they don’t call him the ‘Techonking’ without reason. According to his latest tweet which presents the company’s intention with regards to utilizing AI, Musk said that Twitter wants to use AI to “detect & highlight manipulation of public opinion” on the platform.
Some believe that the project is a high-end language model. The anonymous sources highlighted that the project seems to be in its early stages, but such move shows how committed Musk is to the project.
