A portfolio of more than 280 Bitcoin-related domain names, some dating back to 2010 shortly after Bitcoin’s creation, is being auctioned as a single lot. Lloyds Auctions said many of these domains were registered in the earliest days of the cryptocurrency and are now available to bidders.
The collection covers a broad range of Bitcoin sectors, including payments, custody, exchanges, education, and infrastructure, with examples such as BitcoinBlockchain.com, BitcoinWallets.com, BitcoinExchanges.com, BitcoinRemittances.com, and BitcoinBooks.com.
It also includes geographically focused names like JapanBitcoin.com, GermanyBitcoin.com, AfricaBitcoin.com, and UnitedKingdomBitcoin.com. Although the registrants’ identities have not been disclosed, the early registration dates have fueled speculation about ties to Bitcoin’s original developer community.
Lee Hames, chief operations officer at Lloyds Auctions, described the package as “a full suite of digital assets that define the Bitcoin space online,” adding that the winning bidder “won’t just own names, they’ll own the language of Bitcoin’s digital economy.” The offering follows Lloyds’ record-breaking $3 million sale of XBT.com earlier this year.
High-value domain sales have long played a role in the internet economy. Voice.com sold for $30 million in 2019, while 360.com fetched $17 million in 2015. Crypto-related names have similarly commanded high prices:
BTC.com went for about $1 million in 2014, ETH.com for $2 million in 2017, and Crypto.com in 2018 for between $10 million and $12 million. More recent deals include NFTs.com selling for $15 million in 2022 and CryptoBank.com for $1.35 million that same year.
In 2025, both .ai and .com domains dominate sales rankings, but crypto-linked names remain strong. The domain crypto.bot sold for $250,000, while XBT.com set a $3 million benchmark for Bitcoin-related domains.
Alongside these, blockchain-based “Web3 domains” have carved out their own space. Unlike traditional domains leased via registrars, these are recorded on blockchains and double as wallet addresses and identifiers.
Ethereum Name Service (.eth) is the most widely used, though platforms like Unstoppable Domains also offer extensions such as .crypto and .nft. Some of these have sold for notable sums as well, including Paradigm.eth for about $1.5 million in 2021 and 000.eth for around $320,000.
