Deposits will Return to Binance after Mass Withdrawals

BINA

Nansen, a blockchain data collection company, recorded withdrawals of $1.9 billion in just 24 hours, which is the largest cryptocurrency withdrawal since June of this year. Crypto investors have pulled in approximately $3.9 billion in the past seven days. Binance also temporarily halted withdrawals of their USDC stablecoin, which they justified with so called "token swap." CEO Changpeng Zhao stated on his Twitter account that the company has already encountered such a significant withdrawal of funds by clients and is said to be not even among the top 5. Arkham analyst Henry Fisher thinks has the same opinion, such a massive withdraw is nothing unusual in the case of Binance.

Investors, regulators and political officials are closely watching client deposits related not only to crypto exchange Binance, but also its largest, now bankrupted rival, FTX exchange. Even though the exchange is facing some legal pressures, Binance says it has more than enough funds to pay out all withdraw demands. The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the case with anti-money laundering and sanctions linked to Binance. BNB, token created by Binance, experienced a 4% drop on Monday.
