Mel McCann, the vice president of engineering at Cardano Foundation, has stressed that the “ultimate blockchain” does not exist as this depends on specific use cases.
McCann spoke to Cointelegraph at the World Token Summit in Dubai about multiple topics, including the need to stop arguing about what blockchain trumps all others. McCann believes that there are many “different ways that you can use the blockchain for proof of origin, for provenance, for all of these things.”
The Cardano executive shared his view on the adoption of enterprises and what that means with regards to business models put in place:
“We’re not looking to change people’s business models. What we’re looking to do is: How can they better improve their business models by leveraging Web3 capabilities?”
Among his other conversations with Cointelegraph covered the importance of education in onboarding companies into the Cardano and Web3 ecosystems, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of various blockchain platforms. McCann made it clear that each blockchain has different use cases:
“One of the things that I think people need to stop doing is going, ‘What’s the ultimate blockchain?’ You know, ‘What’s the best blockchain for this?’ And, it doesn’t exist in my mind because it really depends.”
