Adidas Releases their First Digital Wearable Collection
The German sportswear giant launched its first digital wearables line, which included 16 pieces such as biker jackets, hoodies, and puffer coats. The collection was created by the brand's / Studio (Three Stripes Studio). Every item in the current NFT collection is intended to be worn by virtual avatars. They may be accessed using a PFP dressing tool and are compatible across several metaverse contexts. Owners of the 'Adidas Originals: Capsule NFT Collection,' which was released in May 2022, will be able to 'burn' one of the 16 new digital wearable NFTs to replace their Capsule NFT. Anyone else interested in the 'Virtual Gear' collection can buy it via the NFT markets. As an added benefit, community members who possess a suitable partner collection NFT, such as BAYC, MAYC, or Inhabitants, will be able to 'dress up' their NFT with virtual garments from the new collection utilizing a PFP Tool that will be released soon.
This is not Adidas' first foray into the Web 3.0 realm. Adidas bought territory within The Sandbox's virtual environment in 2021 and produced an NFT line in partnership with Punks Comics, Gmoney, and Bored Ape Yacht Club. And it also isn't the only fashion company interested in Web 3.0. PUMA, Prada, American Eagle, Gucci, and Tommy Hilfiger are the most recent fashion retail companies to incorporate NFT and similar technology. Louis The Game, a puzzle adventure game in which players gather NFTs, was launched by Louis Vuitton. Nike, one of the most powerful digital fashion companies in the metaverse to date, purchased RTFKT Studios in 2021, which has a significant presence in the NFT community. Nike has access to a premier digital fashion brand as well as metaverse-ready CloneX avatars.
