Polygon Labs is expanding its Open Money Stack payment infrastructure to the Solana blockchain, enabling businesses operating on the network to connect traditional banking services with cryptocurrency wallets and stablecoin transactions.

The integration allows companies building on Solana to accept payments from bank accounts, provide digital wallets to customers and facilitate payouts through a unified infrastructure. The expansion follows Polygon Labs' addition of support for Tron earlier in October, reflecting growing demand for stablecoin payment services across multiple blockchain networks.

Polygon Labs expands Open Money Stack to Solana

Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron said the decision to support Solana was influenced by customer demand and increasing stablecoin transaction activity across the blockchain ecosystem. According to Token Terminal, Solana processed approximately $5.76 trillion in stablecoin transfers between Jan. 1 and Oct. 27, 2026.

During the same period, Tron recorded around $6.94 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume, highlighting the significant role both networks play in digital asset payments. Vibhu Norby, chief product officer at the Solana Foundation, welcomed the integration as an opportunity to connect blockchain-based payments with established financial infrastructure.

“As that activity grows, connecting Solana to bank accounts, wallets and global payout networks allows businesses to deliver stablecoin payments to more customers and markets,” Norby said. The integration is intended to simplify how businesses develop payment services involving stablecoins, particularly those requiring connections between traditional financial institutions and blockchain networks.

Through Open Money Stack, companies can access several financial services through a single integration rather than building separate connections for banking, wallets and payment processing.

Open Money Stack connects banking services and blockchain payments

Polygon Labs has already supported transfers between Solana and Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks through its Trails service since August. However, the latest expansion introduces additional capabilities beyond blockchain-to-blockchain transfers.

According to Boiron, businesses using the Solana integration can now access funding through bank accounts, payment cards and cash, alongside customer account services, embedded cryptocurrency wallets and payout infrastructure. These features are designed to help companies manage payment operations across different networks without having to rely on multiple independent service providers.

Boiron explained that businesses increasingly require payment solutions capable of operating across several blockchain ecosystems. “We hear from businesses that their customers and payment activity are already spread across networks and that they don’t want to force a chain choice or stitch together a bank provider, wallet, routing service and payout partner for each one,” he said.

Before the Solana and Tron expansions, Open Money Stack was already available for eligible applications on Polygon, Ethereum and other Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible networks. The broader network support could allow businesses to develop payment products that accommodate customers using different blockchains while maintaining a more consistent financial infrastructure.

Polygon strengthens payments infrastructure following Coinme acquisition

The Solana integration also provides Polygon Labs with access to a growing ecosystem of businesses and blockchain applications. According to research published last year by ecosystem data provider The Grid, the Solana ecosystem included 478 companies and 261 projects.

Boiron identified Kira, a financial technology company offering US dollar accounts and stablecoin-powered international payment services, as one of the first customers adopting the new Solana integration. The expansion follows Polygon Labs' completed acquisition of Coinme, a cryptocurrency payments infrastructure provider with an established regulatory presence in the United States.

Through the acquisition, Polygon gained access to 37 state money transmitter licenses and 11 exemptions, providing coverage across 48 US states. These regulatory capabilities support Polygon's broader efforts to connect blockchain-based payments with conventional financial services.

By combining Open Money Stack's multichain functionality with banking connections, wallet infrastructure and payment services, Polygon Labs is positioning itself to serve businesses seeking to integrate stablecoins into everyday financial transactions. The addition of Solana and Tron further extends that strategy, allowing companies to support payment activity across blockchain networks with substantial stablecoin transaction volumes.
