Bitcoin treasury company Strive significantly expanded its cryptocurrency holdings in October, purchasing 15,124 Bitcoin (BTC) and strengthening its position among the world's largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders.

According to its third-quarter earnings report published Friday, Strive acquired a total of 35,497 BTC during the first 10 months of 2026. As of Oct. 30, the company held 43,124 BTC, making it the fourth-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET.

The accumulation brings Strive closer to its stated ambition of becoming the second-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin treasury company.

Strive expands Bitcoin holdings to 43,124 BTC

Strive's October purchases substantially increased its Bitcoin reserves, narrowing the gap between the company and several competitors in the corporate treasury rankings. With 43,124 BTC, Strive trails third-ranked Twenty One Capital by just 390 BTC.

The company is also approaching Metaplanet, which holds approximately 44,000 BTC and currently occupies second place among publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders. Strive would need to acquire another 877 BTC to surpass Metaplanet's reported holdings, assuming neither company increases its Bitcoin reserves in the meantime.

The rapid accumulation follows comments made by Strive CEO Matt Cole during a September interview. Cole suggested that Strive could become the world's second-largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder before the end of 2026, although he acknowledged that this was not the company's most likely outcome.

The latest purchases indicate that Strive is moving closer to that target, supported by its ongoing strategy of accumulating Bitcoin as a primary treasury asset.

Strive raises $609 million through preferred stock offering

Alongside its Bitcoin acquisitions, Strive has continued raising capital to support its broader financial strategy. In October, the company generated approximately $609 million in net proceeds through an offering of its SATS perpetual preferred stock.

The preferred shares carry an annual dividend rate of 15%, providing investors with a fixed-rate income instrument while giving Strive access to additional capital. However, the company has not disclosed how much of the proceeds will be used to acquire more Bitcoin. Strive also reported substantial profitability for the third quarter, recording approximately $509 million in net income. The result was primarily driven by $533.7 million in unrealized gains on its Bitcoin holdings.

These gains reflect changes in the reported value of the company's cryptocurrency reserves rather than profits realized through Bitcoin sales. The financial results demonstrate the significant influence of Bitcoin price movements on Strive's earnings, given the company's substantial exposure to the asset.

Strive explores banking, DeFi and traditional dinance opportunities

Beyond expanding its Bitcoin treasury, Strive is considering additional financial services and investment opportunities designed to make use of its balance sheet. According to its earnings report, the company is evaluating potential activities in banking, brokerage services, decentralized finance (DeFi), reinsurance and asset tokenization.

These initiatives could allow Strive to develop revenue streams beyond Bitcoin price appreciation while expanding its involvement in traditional and blockchain-based financial markets. Strive chief risk officer Jeff Walton explained that the company is particularly interested in opportunities connecting cryptocurrency holdings with conventional financial services.

“We believe that some of the bigger opportunities are crossing the aisle into traditional finance, operating as a structured finance company, and finding yield and distribution that is not correlated to Bitcoin or crypto,” Walton said. The strategy reflects Strive's intention to develop financial activities that may generate returns independently of broader cryptocurrency market performance.

Despite the company's expanding Bitcoin reserves and reported quarterly profits, its shares have experienced considerable selling pressure. According to Yahoo Finance, Strive shares (ASST) declined 1.97% to $20.19. The stock had also fallen approximately 32.15% over the preceding month, highlighting the contrast between the company's Bitcoin accumulation and its recent share-price performance.

Strive's continued purchases and exploration of additional financial services suggest that the company is seeking to establish a broader business model around its Bitcoin holdings, while pursuing a higher position among publicly traded corporate Bitcoin treasury companies.
