NASDAQ-listed Interactive Brokers announced the launch of a crypto trading platform for its users in Hong Kong amid growing crypto interest in the Asian nation. The crypto trading services were launched in alliance with OSL Digital Securities, a Securities and Futures Commission-licensed trading platform and digital asset broker firm.
Individuals with over 8 million Hong Kong dollars, or $1 million US Dollars in investable assets, or institutions with above $6 million who are residents of Hong Kong are now able to trade cryptocurrency and other digital assets via the Interactive Brokers platform.
The move comes as interest in crypto is growing in Hong Kong, with regulators recently approving legislations focused on companies which offer services related to virtual assets.
