The United Kingdom has established a Bitcoin-only organization which seeks to increase BTC adoption and education in Great Britain.

Named Bitcoin Policy UK (BPUK), the entity aims to unite Bitcoin advocates and experts, stakeholders, tax specialists, policymakers and environmentalists with the goal of unlocking the potential of Bitcoin in Britain, alongside exploring how adoption of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency would benefit the kingdom’s communities, businesses and households.

The main objectives of BPUK are to boost investments into BTC, prepare students for Bitcoin-related jobs in the future, raise awareness and examine the use of stranded and wasted energy resources for Bitcoin mining.

BPUK head of policy Freddie New highlighted to Cointelegraph the potential positive impact which this organization’s endeavors can create for the UK, focused on three key related areas:

“Getting clear and correct information on Bitcoin to policymakers and regulators, highlighting the environmental and sustainability benefits of the mining industry, and collating and providing educational resources for the next generation of Bitcoiners.”
