Nepal Orders Internet Providers to Block Crypto Activities

CryptoRed

The Telecommunications Authority of Nepal has commanded all internet service providers in the nation to block all crypto-related activities, which includes the prevention of operating and managing crypto-focused “websites, apps or online networks”.

Nearly a year and a half ago, the central bank of the Asian nation disallowed all cryptocurrency activities such as mining and trading. In April of this year, the telecommunications authority of Nepal implemented more than one initiative to discover any activity logs of users which show participation in illegal activities, and that included the trading of cryptocurrencies.

The latest move is quite stringent, and Nepal will take legal action against internet service providers and email service providers if any crypto-related activity occurs on their platforms. The country joins the list of nine nations which implemented absolute bans on crypto activities, and the list includes Tunisia, China, Morocco and Egypt.
