Ethereum ETFs Surpass $2.5 Billion Milestone

Ethereum appears to be on the verge of a breakout, supported by Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) crossing the $2.5 billion inflow milestone.

According to Farside Investors, United States spot Ether ETFs exceeded $2.5 billion in total inflows as of Dec. 24, following $53 million in cumulative net inflows that day.

Despite these strong ETF inflows, Ether’s price has faced a decline, dropping nearly 10% over the past week and trading at $3,475 as of 1:00 pm UTC on Dec. 25, according to Cointelegraph Markets Pro.

Crypto analyst Satoshi Flipper suggests that Ether’s price could gain upward momentum once it successfully turns the $3,500 level from resistance to support. In a Dec. 25 X post, they wrote:

“ETH breaking out as expected, price now trying to flip the $3.5k level from resistance to support.”

Psychological price points like $3,500 tend to attract heightened retail investor attention, but failure to break through these levels could dampen sentiment.

Analysts remain optimistic about Ether’s price potential as 2025 approaches.

Bybit predicts a rally above $4,000 before Jan. 20, when President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office. A Bybit spokesperson shared with Cointelegraph:

“Bybit analysts see $4,000 on the horizon for ETH before Jan. 20.”

Investor enthusiasm has been growing since Nov. 21, when U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler announced his resignation, effective shortly before Trump’s inauguration.

Crypto analyst Lucky also expressed bullish expectations for Ether after the holiday season. In a Dec. 25 X post, they wrote:

“I’m targeting $ETH to $5K this cycle. After the holiday season, expect significant movement.”

Meanwhile, some institutional market participants have set even higher targets for Ether during the upcoming cycle. VanEck has forecasted a cycle peak of $6,000 for Ether and a $180,000 price for Bitcoin in 2025.
